Book a traditional dhow trip for an outing so unique it will forever remain in your memories. Guests are collected from the Mnarani jetty in the morning and taken out to the ocean on a traditional dhow - a Kenyan sailing boat. As you sail the seas, you will have the opportunity to hop into the crystal waters to snorkel among the beautiful reefs.
Guests can experience this excursion ‘a la carte’ or opt for a traditional seafood beach picnic lunch, prepared by the famous Captain Issa. The lunch usually consists of coconut rice, pineapple segments, fresh-caught fish and crayfish, all enjoyed in a small cove where the dhow anchors along the way.
Guests are collected at the Mnarani jetty and then taken on a leisurely cruise up the spectacular Kilifi Creek on a traditional Arabic sailing boat, called a dhow. The cruise sails up the Creek into the “Bowl” – an expansive body of water encompassing large areas of mangrove forest, which provide habitat for thousands of resident and migratory birds. One of the many wonders of the Sunset Cruise is the opportunity to witness the flocks of birds returning to roost as the sun sets over the Creek.
Guests can opt to upgrade their Sunset Cruise with the addition of an in-transit massage. Indulge in a Neck and Head Massage, or a Foot and Leg Massage and unwind completely as you head off into the sunset.
This is a great alternative to the Sunset Cruise, as guests head off up Kilifi Creek on our pontoon boat, with kayaks in tow. Once the pontoon reaches *the Bowl, guests climb into the kayaks and explore the mangrove thickets and fascinating eco-system up close and personal.

Beverages, snacks and beach towels can be arranged with Entertainment Team prior to departure. Guests meet at the Mnarani Beach Club jetty at 15:00 and return just after dark.
